Cleveland poet Mimi Plevin-FoustAvailable for Readings and Workshops

Over her career, Mimi has also been a poet, glass artist, screenwriter and filmmaker.
Her poetry, screenplays and articles have been published by Forge Journal, Fourteen Hills, Gordon Square Review, LearnVest/Forbes.com, POZ Magazine, Sanskrit Literary-Arts MagazineSCRIPT, Stickman Review, Willow Review and more. She was honored to be included in the new poetry anthology published by Moon Tide Press, When There Are Nine: Poems Celebrating the Life and Achievements of Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
Mimi writes poems to try to figure out the messy, lovely wackiness of life, speak truth to power, and tell individual stories of courage and grace. 
Her poem On the Anniversary of the Kent State Shootings was selected to win the Gordon Square Review Poetry Contest in 2017.
As a Fellow with the Cleveland Jewish Arts & Culture Lab, Mimi was one of 21 artists from three countries who created and exhibited original work springing from the themes of ‘Homeland and Promised Land’. 
Mimi earned an M.F.A. in Dramatic Writing from New York University, a B.A. from Brown, and studied writing with Grace Paley at Sarah Lawrence College. She learned to blow glass with Dale Chihuly at the Pilchuck Glass School and Rhode Island School of Design.
